Vitamin B17 , also Laetrile or. Amygdalin called, was named by the researcher Dr. Cancer was discovered as a vitamin-like and water-soluble substance and was therefore given the name vitamin B17.
The main active ingredient of vitamin B17 – the nitriloside – consists of one molecule each of hydrogen cyanide and benzaldehyde. It is a very stable cyan compound, which is initially neutral in living organisms, is completely non-toxic and has no effect on healthy tissue! It can only develop its effect through the cleavage enzyme ss-glucosidase, which is not found anywhere in the body in any appreciable amount – except in degenerated and uncontrollably dividing cells! Its concentration there is a hundred to 3000 times higher than in the healthy cells in the vicinity. The vitamin B17 is “split” directly in the sick cells and can only have a (toxic) effect or heal on these cells with its strong “cell toxins”, cyanide (hydrogen cyanide) and benzaldehyde.
Another natural factor contributes to this: the absence or presence of another endogenous enzyme called rhodanase, which has the ability and the property to neutralize the hydrogen cyanide and to convert it into substances that are not only non-toxic for the organism, but even for its own Health conducive and necessary. This enzyme can convert hydrogen cyanide into thiocyanate, which has a positive effect on our organism. Thiocyanate lowers blood pressure and is also the substance from which our body produces vitamin B12, which is important for the nerves.
